Micro Niche Marketing Versus Internet Marketing Niche

In this article I would like to discuss the difference between micro niche marketing and internet marketing as its own niche. Comparing micro niche marketing and the internet marketing niche is the same as comparing apples with oranges. Like apples and oranges are both in the fruit family, micro niche marketing and the internet marketing niche are both cousins in the online marketing world. The term micro niche marketing means offering a specific product to a specific type of customer looking for a very specific tool, product or information. Then you have internet marketing as a niche of its own, because internet marketers also make up a micro niche of consumers who are online looking for information and tools. If you are just starting out in online niche marketing, you want to steer clear of the internet marketing niche for the following reasons.

Level Of Competition

The internet marketing niche is very very competitive. You will experience this as you start to get on the different mailing lists of the successful internet marketing “Gurus”. When you are starting out it is better to stick with small micro niche markets that are not overstocked with Gurus and are much easier for the beginning marketer to break into. A micro niche market, like bass guitar lessons as an example, allows you to advertise your own niche products or that of another affiliate product with a lot less competition. This can be done through blogs, websites and even new media like videos and podcasts.

You Need To Be The Expert

There is a micro niche market for anything and everything you can think of. All it takes to break into the micro niche marketing business is a good idea, a good product or type of service created by you or someone else that will appeal to certain people, some promotion, and the desire to succeed. The easiest and most rewarding way to get started is to start with a topic or skill you already know a lot about. If you’re an avid gardener, start researching gardening micro niches, like how to save your tomato plants from those horrible big tomato worms. You want to think of one problem to solve that people are looking for information or products to solve that one problem.

You’re Not an Expert in Internet Marketing, Yet

The Internet marketing niche, requires that you will be promoting your own Internet marketing product or service. This is a very crowded field of endeavor and really difficult to break into, mainly because it’s a world filled with experts who have been playing and winning the game for the longest time.

I don’t mean to imply that it is impossible to earn money in the Internet marketing niche because, of course, you still can. It is still a world built on different demands and that means that if you have a product that can compete and if you have the willingness to play hard ball with the big guys and gals, then you can succeed at the Internet marketing niche game.

So how do you find your perfect micro niche so you can start developing a way to earn money in niche affiliate marketing online?
