I’m A Much Worthwhile Person Than The Scumbags Who Hustled Me

Ok, so the Kalmindon debacle is concluded. I know I’ve been ripped off by a couple of very smart brothers with a very plausible hook, it’s cost me 3 grand that I coughed up for SEO training that I could have got from the internet for nothing, with no possibility at all of the promised clientele that was ‘guaranteed upon course completion’ turning up. They were supposed to have a ‘pool of clients’ waiting to have their site optimised and they would merely pair me up with the ones either in or adjacent to the Black Country.

Of course the unkindest thing, which applies for all of us who have been cheated, is not the loot that we all shelled out to the Brothers Grim, but the resources we used up in the meantime. Because they gave us a site of their own in the interim which needed loads of articles, 50 in my case, in the expectation that a paying client was imminent and I could begin to get some kind of income. In my case that means that as I got on with the training in April I have been using up my own money to support us during that time and now here we are in November and it is nearly all gone. Fortunately, the cost of living in the Black Country is much less than it would be in many places, but it couldn’t go on forever, and it didn’t.

But, what I have acquired is the knowledge that I wasn’t alone and some intelligent others have also been swindled equally so I’m not the only idiot. The other is that I have learnt how to do SEO, something that I did not actually know existed prior to the episode but now I get it and really satisfaction from doing it. To me, SEO is the idyllic occupation as my Mrs is having chemotherapy at the moment which requires frequent trips to hospitals around the Black Country and I can drop it for a while to go with her.

I had already been practicing a little IT support for small businesses in the Black Country but it just ran to the odd call to attach a printer or fix a crashed pc, not as regularly as I’d like obviously. But what I can do now is to mix both skill sets and offer SEO and IT support and hopefully gain frequent business coming in.

But while I try to sort out something, I may have to see about a career at the Scottish burger restaurant or behind a bar somewhere but it isn’t likely to help very much as the first Mrs Izzard is about to go on half pay from next month as she has been away from work for treatment for 6 months now. Which is of course another rather unfortunate moment of timing as far as the conning of time and money by Kalmindon is concerned.

So, although I’m not a native of the Black Country I have found them to be largely joyful and upbeat folk, and I will try to match that outlook because I am, after all a far better person than the cheats who most likely feel very pleased and clever at having diddled me and the rest. But then that is probably how sociopaths work and I am a good chap. So there. *Blows a raspberry!*
